The Shop Division at Forrest Services operates from two dedicated industrial blasting and coating facilities located in La Porte, Texas. These shops are designed for precision surface preparation and high-quality coating work on a wide range of industrial components. Our controlled environments ensure each project meets the highest standards of performance, safety, and durability.
Advanced Blasting and Coating Facilities
The main shop is a 45,000 square-foot, 100% climate-controlled facility equipped with two 30' x 60' blast and paint booths. The secondary shop is a 20,000 square-foot facility that includes two 25' x 50' blast and paint booths. Both facilities are fully equipped for abrasive blasting, painting, and coating of materials such as steel plates and beams, fabricated and straight-run pipe, pipe manifolds, exchangers, vessels, fittings, flanges, and valves. The climate-controlled environment allows for consistent application and curing, preventing contamination and ensuring long-term coating performance.
Equipment, Safety, and Environmental Standards
Each enclosed blast booth is outfitted with a complete EPA containment system that includes a desiccant dryer to keep the blast media dry and clean. All blast operators breathe Grade D air, which is free of particulates, fumes, and contaminants, and each operator’s gear is equipped with carbon dioxide monitors to ensure safe breathing conditions during operation. Every project at the Shop Division follows NACE, SSPC, and ISO specifications.
During painting operations, Mil Tests are conducted per SSPC requirements, and dry paint thickness is measured using magnetic gauges to confirm proper coating application.
All tests and inspections are closely monitored by our on-staff NACE Certified Quality Control Inspectors, ensuring that each finished product meets the client’s specifications and exceeds industry expectations.
